Patriotic Stitching for Summertime

july fourth hand embroidery pattern This little hoop of patriotic charm is a free hand embroidery pattern I made just for you!  It is a quick project and when you’re done you can add this little touch of red, white, and blue to your mantle or gallery wall for the summer.

The only stitches you need to know how to do are running stitch, back stitch, and satin stitch.  You can find the tutorials for those stitches right here at Lovely Messes.

This pattern fits into a 4 inch hoop.  I usually glue my fabric back to finish my hoops, but another option is to trim it around the edge of your hoop and leave it like that.  See the cute little wavy fabric peeking out?

    • Thanks Lynda!! I still do some cross stitch projects, that is what I learned first, but now I’m usually working with other stitches. I’m glad you liked it!
