One of my favorite books is A Circle of Quiet by Madeleine L’Engle.
In it there is a section where she is talking about how hard it was to be a writer in her 30’s while she was also raising a family. She says she was so exhausted most of the time that she wanted to stop, but the writing was something so core to her being that she couldn’t.
She said it was the tired 30’s.
Isn’t that phrase the perfect way to describe this time of life? Being everything to everyone else. Forgetting that we have needs too.
